Oak Trees Multi Academy Trust Head Office

HR and Recruitment Manager

Founded in June 2017, Oak Trees Multi Academy Trust is a strong, respected and effective MAT of 12 primary and secondary schools, with around 650 staff providing an excellent education to just over 5,000 children. All our schools are located on the Wirral, and we are committed to making a lasting contribution to our communities.

Over the past few years, Oak Trees has made tremendous progress in developing and embedding good practice, particularly in leadership, finance, governance, curriculum, workload and professional development. With a strong central team in place, and a dynamic vision of what good looks like, we are building a strong Trust community that’s really positive about our future. By 2030, we are determined to be a beacon of excellence in the education sector and a model of best practice, with high performing academies across the Trust, and our comprehensive People Strategy is fundamental to achieving this ambition.

We’re looking for an experienced, innovative and dynamic HR professional to help us accelerate progress, develop an even stronger organisational culture, and support all our people to become outstanding, whatever their role in the Trust. You must be a qualified HR professional, and your career to date will ideally include some time in the educational sector. A good understanding of organisational development in similar specialist contexts, and experience of working effectively with unions, are both essential. Strong candidates will bring a consistent track record of leading both high-quality day-to-day people services, as well as perceptive strategic HR, and will take a particular pride in leaving organisations stronger than when they arrived.

Please download the candidate information pack to find out more. For an informal conversation or to apply, please contact David Gooda by email: otmat-hr@navigategroup.co.uk or by phone on 01625 800862.

Egremont Primary School

Egremont Primary is a happy, warm school with a strong heritage, and part of the ambitious and well-respected Oak Trees Multi Academy Trust. We have around 290 children aged 3-11 on roll, and our last Ofsted inspection (2021) judged the school to be Good with Outstanding features. Well-established at the heart of its community in Wirral, our school is popular, and our reputation is strong. We’re committed to raising the aspirations and expectations of the whole school community, and we’re trusted to achieve the very best outcomes for local children.

Our new Headteacher will have a key role to play within and beyond the school, being visible and accessible to colleagues within the academy, across the Trust, and to parents and carers. You’ll build on the achievements of recent years, harnessing our sense of common purpose and setting a course to be exceptional across the board. We’re looking for you to bring strong, positive and clear leadership, with a sustained emphasis on continuous improvement and establishing a culture of excellence as standard.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, committed and positive Headteacher to lead a strong and skilled staff team who provide a deeply child-focused and rounded education. Key to your success will be an inspiring and collaborative leadership style, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build a strong collective vision. You must have a track record of inclusive leadership which has resulted in sustained achievement, and will understand the importance of building supportive and flexible teams. We’re looking for someone who can exemplify high standards in every area; but since we believe that outstanding teaching and learning underpin the highest quality education, a strength in this aspect would be a definite asset.
